Dr. Loong Yik Yee was an Associate Professor in Universiti Putra Malaysia and a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with a MD (UKM) degree in 1995 and subsequently was trained as a specialist in Internal medicine and gastroenterology. He had served in many Hospitals in the Ministry of Health Malaysia which include hospital in Seremban, Tawau, Kota Kinabalu, Klang and Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

         He was appointed Head of Department of Medicine in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia in year 2004-2009. Other than that he was appointed as Head of Department of Gastroenterology, Universiti Putra Malaysia in year 2004-2012. Now he is a full time private practitioner in Klang Valley.

His special interest is in Helicobacter pylori infection, colorectal cancer screening, hepatitis virus infection and preventive medicine.
